Full Service Design
Though we have a wealth of experience in design and construction, most clients engage Staprans Design to help them create a new interior from concept to completion. During this process, our team uses the following approach.
Getting to know you
On every job Lisa and Armin Staprans serve as design directors and design team leaders. Together with you, we create a vision for your home, and then we make that vision a reality. The first step on that path is getting acquainted and sharing information.

We believe in visiting your home to talk to you about how you want your new environment to reflect your interests. Do you like to cook or entertain? Large groups or intimate gatherings? How connected are you with nature and your garden? Do you want a studio or other special space to pursue creative work?  Do you have a special vision for raising your family? These are the types of questions that ensure later proposals reflect your special interests and requirements.

Getting to know you also means understanding your aesthetic tastes. Are your tastes more traditional or contemporary, more ornate or minimal, French or American…? Our design recommendations always build on your aesthetic preferences. You must immediately feel comfortable living in the environment we have created together with you.

Designing for you
The end product of the design process is a set of plans and specifications that guide the project.

During the design phase, we will propose room layouts, materials (tile, stone, woods), fixtures, fittings, lighting, wall finishes, furnishings, etc. that are coordinated with the style and design of the space.

Before construction begins, you will have a very clear idea of how the interior design integrates into the overall spacial flow. We also like to use full scale mockups and samples of the materials so that you can best visualize how each room will look.

Managing your project
Project management is where plans evolve into a new and revised structure, custom-made furniture, millwork, lighting and a host of other items. Prospective interior materials and furnishings are shown for your approval. Specifications are sent out to bid, vendors selected, lead times negotiated, schedules set and the budget managed. Our firm uses the best software made especially for our industry to manage costs, timing and finished product.

Team coordination is another important project management responsibility. Interior design work always needs to be integrated with ongoing architectural and construction work. This means coordinating with all the client's contractors to successfully complete the job. It is always the project manager’s goal to avoid rework and to finish on-time and on-budget.

Acquiring the finishing touches
Our love of authentic materials and fine craftsmanship has put us in touch with skilled artisans in many trades. They are able to custom make artistic and yet pragmatic accessories ranging from hand-woven textiles to blown glass lighting, to cast bronze hoods to hand-hewn steel hardware.

Tables, chairs, couches, carpets, window treatments, lighting, bedding, tableware and art are many of the finishing touches we add to make a space comfortable and exquisite.

You will work directly with Lisa on the selection process.
